1. Who can use TrollPlace
You must be at least 18 years old. You can't use TrollPlace if we've banned you before, or if the law where you live doesn't allow it. One person, one alias.
2. Your alias and account
- You post under an alias (your "troll name"). Other users see your alias, not your real identity.
- You give us a working email address or phone number. We keep it private and use it to run your account and to enforce bans. See our Privacy Policy.
- Reserving a name on the waitlist holds it for you, but it doesn't give you ownership of it. Aliases can't be sold or transferred. We may reclaim an alias that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, breaks our guidelines, or sits unused for a long time.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your login secure.
3. The rules
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, which are part of these terms. Among other things, you won't:
- harass, threaten, dox or try to unmask anyone;
- post anything illegal, sexual, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- impersonate a real person or brand in a way people could believe;
- spam, run bots, scrape the service, or sign up in bulk (for example to game the waitlist leaderboard); or
- try to break, overload or get around the security of TrollPlace.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt (for example resize, or turn into a share card) and distribute it, in order to run, promote and improve TrollPlace. When you share a post outside TrollPlace, other people may see and re-share it there too. This license ends when you delete the content, except for copies others have already shared, copies in backups for a limited time, and anything we must keep for legal reasons.
You promise you have the rights to what you post, and that it doesn't break these terms or the law.
5. Moderation
We use automated tools and human review to keep TrollPlace fun and safe. We may remove content, limit who sees it, or restrict, suspend or ban accounts that break these terms or the guidelines, or that put TrollPlace or others at risk. Where it makes sense, we'll tell you what happened and why. If you think we got it wrong, email [email protected].
We don't pre-approve posts and we're not responsible for what users post. Opinions on TrollPlace belong to the people who post them, and plenty of them are deliberately bad.
6. Copyright complaints
We respect copyright. If you believe something on TrollPlace infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] with: your contact details; the work you believe was copied; a link to the content on TrollPlace; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We remove infringing content and ban repeat infringers.
7. Our stuff
The TrollPlace name, logo, mascot, design and software belong to us. You can't use them without our permission, except to share TrollPlace posts and links in the normal way.
8. Changes and ending things
TrollPlace is new and will change a lot. We may add, change or remove features at any time. You can stop using TrollPlace whenever you like, and you can ask us to delete your account or waitlist spot. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections 4 (for content already shared), 7, 9, 10 and 11 survive.
9. Disclaimers
TrollPlace is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any particular feature, launch date or alias will be available. Nothing on TrollPlace is advice.
10. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, TrollPlace and its owners won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of TrollPlace or from content posted by others. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (currently nothing, because TrollPlace is free).
You agree to cover our costs if a claim is brought against us because of content you posted or your breach of these terms.
11. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where TrollPlace is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given up the right to. We may update these terms; if a change is significant, we'll give notice on the site or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use TrollPlace after that means you accept the new terms.
